with a very heavy heart that I've decided to let Vogue, the puppy I was
keeping from my recent litter, go to a pet home. Unfortunately for
me, it looks like she is going to grow over the ideal size and will not
be suitable for me to show. She's such a loving, adorable,
friendly puppy and I'm really going to miss having her around but I know
it's for the best.
a lovely day we had today at The Scottish Kenel Club Championship
show. Enya had a day out following a long break from the show ring
and delighted us by winning the Post Graduate bitch class while Cruz
gained a third place in the Limit Dog class. The highlight of the
day was when Evie not only won the Veteran Bitch class but was then
awarded the Bitch Challenge Certificate, Best of Breed and third in the
Veteran Group. It was a day to remember particularly as Evie is
now taking a well-earned rest from the show ring and will only make very
limited appearances in the future.
I received a lovely photograph of one of the puppies 'Cassie'

a great day we had at Crufts this year with Evie winning the Reserve
Challenge Certificate under judge, Albert Wight, and Cruz gaining a Reserve in
his class under judge, Marion Withers. This was a special day for
us as it was the first time Evie has been to Crufts since 2014 when she
won the Bitch Challenge Certificate. So many memories came
our first show of the year - Northern Counties Shetland Sheepdog Club
Open Show, Cover won the limit bitch class and Cruz delighted us by
winning Best Dog and Reserve Best In Show under breed specialist, Sylvia
Curtis. It was a lovely start to the new year.
pleased with the unexpected results we have had at the shows throughout
October. At the ESSC Ch Show Cruz and Cover
both gained a second place in their respective classes, but the biggest
surprise of the day was with Evie. After a break
of 2 years, I decided to give her a day out and enter her in the veteran
bitch class in which there were some quality bitches entered. I was
thrilled when she won the class despite beginning to lose her coat, but
she then went on to gain the Reserve Bitch CC under bitch judge June
Rutterford. To say I was overwhelmed is an understatement. We had
another successful day when Cruz won the Graduate dog class at the MWSSC
Ch show two weeks later.
Just one week later at the beginning of
November, I made the long journey to the Working & Pastoral Breeds
of Scotland Ch show in Edinburgh with both Cruz
and Cover despite the fact that Cover was losing
her coat, which did make me wonder if it was worth making the long
journey. I couldn't have been more wrong. Once again Cruz had a
successful day, winning the Post Graduate dog class, but the biggest
surprise of the day came when Cover was placed first in a quality Limit
Bitch class and then went on to gain another Reserve CC, despite losing
her coat. Judge Sandra Wigglesworth
I'm really slipping when it comes to keeping my website up to date! So
much has happened during the past 12 months or more that it's impossible
to list everything. Have had a lovely year with Enya and Cruz.
Although very rarely shown, Enya was awarded BPIB at South Wales Kennel
Association Ch show in October 2016 under judge, Barbara Thornley. Cruz
has also had a very successful year during his time in the 'yearling'
classes with many first and second places to his credit. He
repeated his previous year's success at Scunthorpe Canine Society open
show when he was once again awarded BOB and G4. He was also awarded Best
Dog, Reserve Best in Show and Best Opposite Sex at the YSSC Open show on
01/10/17. Meanwhile, Lundecock's Cover Girl with Tachnamadra
also had a very successful year with many first places at Championship
shows to her credit and the icing on the cake was when she was awarded
the bitch RCC at Driffield Championship Show in September 2017 under
judge, Robin Searle. I really must try to get some more photos
together. Evie is still living life as a lady of luxury and hasn't been
shown for the past 12 months but, hopefully, she will make the odd
appearance in Veteran classes next year.
photos added of Evie's puppies - Enya and Cruz
- now aged 10 months. Both puppies have had a lovely start to
their show career with Cruz gaining a first in the MPD class at the ESSC
Open Show in June and again at Windsor Championship show. He later
gained a second place in the PD class at both National Working and
Pastoral Breeds Ch Show and Leeds Ch Show. Meantime Enya was
placed 2nd in MPB class at the ESSC Open show and gained a first place
in PB at Leeds Ch show.

very sad day here at Tachnamadra - Today we had to say goodbye to
our beloved Chaise who left us
so suddenly and unexpectedly. Only 4 hours earlier we also lost
her 8 day old grand-daughter from the litter below who, despite our efforts to save her, gave
up on life. Words cannot express how we feel right now and how difficult
it is to come to terms with today's events :-(.
gave birth to her first litter of puppies.
Sadly, the first puppy was stillborn and 8 days later the little bitch
puppy lost her fight for life, leaving us with the only surviving puppy
- a sable/white dog.

sure you must have thought that I had abandoned you all, it's been so
long since I updated the site. I've just had an extremely busy
time but we are all still here and as involved as ever in the Shetland
Sheepdog. Both Evie and Thomas have been out of coat for a few
months, so we haven't been to any shows for quite some time, but that
all changed when I took Evie to the Northern Counties Shetland Sheepdog
Championship Show on 1st April where she was placed first in the Post
Graduate Bitch Class by Marion Penwarne. This was followed by
another first place at the North Wales Shetland Sheepdog Club Open show
under Nina Rowlands. A week later we attended the WELKS
championship show where once again she won the Post Graduate Bitch class
and was short-listed for the BCC. Then it was the turn of the YSSC
Championship show where once again she won the Post Graduate Bitch class
and was considered for the RBCC. In April this year I was very fortunate
to be invited to judge the Czesky Shetland Sheepdog Club show in Prague
where I was so very well looked after by the committee and those who
accompanied me during my three day stay. It was a wonderful
opportunity for me to see the fantastic sights and buildings in the
historic city of Prague and the Shelties in the Czech Republic. My
thanks to all those two gave me such a lovely time and did everything
possible to ensure I enjoyed my stay.
